Stewart Memorial Community Hospital Staff Spotlight Ashley Mork. RN. CLS What is your nursing speciality Education, but I still get to work in Obstetrics, Emergency, and Med/ Surg. My favorite is when I get to teach prenatal classes because it combines two of my passions - education and OR. At Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, our team is thrilled to work with naning professionals who greatly impact the lives of their patients in a positive manner. There is a special place in our hearts for nurses who are willing to go the extra mile. We believe such incredible work and dedication shouldn't go unnoticed. Now, more than ever our nurses deserve to be recognized for their efforts in fighting COVID-19. How long have you been a nurset I have boen a nurse for 11 years. Why did you choose to become a nurset Many reasons. After I had my tonsils out when I was 12. I went into the clinic with a 104 degree fever, and I had the most commpassionate, caring nare, and I wanted to be just like her. I looked up to many of my family members who were nurses. I knew I could be happy doing just about anything. but I wanted to make a difference and put all my hard work in school to use Prenatal Ciass What is your role at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital? I am the Nurse Education Director. I was given the opportunity to grow in my career when I started this role a few years ago, and I want to help others identify their strengths and help them grow as well. As a nurse, what is the most important thing you want people to I want people to know that COVID doesn't care if you're a Republican. Democrat, religious, young, or heahhy. It is a virus that is affecting Everyone. Please be safe and please consider the vaccine. What are some things you enjoy about working with the team at Stewart Memorialt I love the culture here, you just can't replicate it anywhere else. SMCH is like family, and almost everyone is pitching in and helping out during these difficult times. We have great teanwork, which is necessary for a critical access hospital. What are hobbies/activities you enjoy outside of nursingt I love to spend time with my family and friends. I love to go hiking in the mountains and just being active in general. Ialso love to bake.
