Three symptoms characterize bumout: exhaustion: cynicism about the job, company, and/or coworkers; and foelings of inadequacy in your position. Bumout does not have to cost you your job. It can be managed and reversed with healthy self-care habits like eating well, exercising, and getting plenty of sleep. Taking a vacation may seem like a good option, although retuming to the same situation can make the problem worse. Taking breaks for lunch or a walk and getting out of the office (preferably oxitside) every day can be more beneficial. The negative cffects of bumout spill over into every area of life including your home, work, and social life.
